Can you give this greyhound a home?

Ricky is our lovely long termer who has been with us for too long now. He has such a great character, very happy, very intelligent and keen to explore a world beyond the kennels. He’s one of those dogs that you can really tell is going to make a great pet and has a lot to give.

Ricky’s enthusiasm for life does however mean he can be on the strong side when being walked, he gets excited when he sees other dogs. He has improved a lot since he first came to us and now walks very well. We have found a few techniques that keep him well behaved on walkies. He loves his treats (puppachinos are his absolute favourite) and he has been a dream to train due to him being such a foody and a clever boy. This has helped us to start teaching him distracting techniques when he does get excited on walks.

Ricky has yet to fully learn that other dogs are friends and he doesn’t need to get so excited or fixate on them when he sees them. As such, he requires an owner who can take time to slowly, carefully and consistently teach him some social skills. Because of this he would suit an owner who’s had a dog before or willing to take it slow and steady and build up to being near other dogs. He absolutely loves people and has a lot of love to give, we also believe he would be best as the only dog in the household.
