Can you give this greyhound a home?

Shelby was returned to us due to a change in circumstances of the owner and an appeal was made for Fosters to give this girl a home whilst we got to know her and get her ready for homing again.  She has been in Foster since February this year and it’s now time for us to find the forever home for this lovely girl. 

Shelby is a black girl aged 6 and is a sweet small greyhound who will make someone a great pet. She was quiet when she first came in to Foster but her true personality is starting to come out and she is blossoming. 

She walks well and is fairly behaved on walks but she can sometimes freeze a little by main roads and if she sees small furry animals she can sometimes pull a little. Currently Shelby is going on 2 or 3 short walks per day with the occasional run at the secured field.  She loves going out in the car but some days she might need a little bit of encouragement with a treat.  

Shelby loves people and will get excited when she receives visitors, but she does calm down once she has had her fuss. There are also no issues with other dogs whilst she has been out and about. 

When Shelby was returned to us she was underweight and she was showing signs of resource guarding which were likely due to her being hungry. She is currently eating two meals a day of kibble with forthglade as a topper and occasional sardines and her weight has increased to a more reasonable 26KG so she continues to need monitoring to ensure her weight remains constant, although she is a small girl.
